About the project

Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in cooperation with several partners created a consortium, which also includes MEDIREX GROUP ACADEMY n.o. The concerned project is focused on research and development in the field of manufacture of other means of transport, including their functional services, quality, testing, metrology and related processes for the development of an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) that can be used to transport material in hazardous and often life-threatening situations, and the supporting ICT management systems for the UAS needs.

„Modern personalized medicine requires fast and accurate information about the health condition of each individual. These will help us to identify and label the disease and take into account its course as well as individual treatment. At present, we are able to process a large number of samples in the laboratory quickly and accurately and send these quickly to the relevant physicians. The limiting factor in the speed of diagnostics thus becomes the turnaround time (from sample collection to processing in the laboratory). Research in the field of air transport of biological materials in the future will help to minimize the time of transport of samples regardless of the human factor and the transport situation in urban agglomerations, thus saving not only time for the patients but in many cases the most valuable thing they have – their health.“

Mgr. Michal Kajsík, PhD.

Project Coordinator

From the point of view of the key project results, in the case of its implementation, the following will be generated: A range of prototypes addressing various technical/design aspects of drones and designs of models for the optimal way of transporting different types of biological material. The basic input will be the excellence of the research team of investigators and its combined research know-how in the field of UAV research on the one hand and in the field of biomedicine/public health on the other.
